Hello and welcome! There is an about me on the website - but heres a little introduction! My name is Trent, born and raised in Australia, but now living in Japan. I spent most of my adult life working in VFX (you can see the work I've done here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm10440328/), and while this is still the career I find myself in, I've really started to embrace photography. I am by no means a pro photographer, my photos still have a rather amateur quality to them, but that is kind of the point of this blog. I want to document my journey and slowly improve. I'll gladly take any tips and ticks!

My Gear
Just another part of documenting the start of my journey. What gear do I have? As of today, I am using a Lumix S5IIx. Actually a big fan of the Lumix brand, and don't really see myself shifting. I do love the Nikon systems too, but ultimately I'd love to stay in the L-mount eco-system. My dream is to someday own a Leica, so the lenses I can accumulate now will have a use in the future too! Speaking of lenses, I am rocking a Sigma 28-70mm F2.8. I'd love to get some primes in the future, but I don't exactly know what focal length I like to use the most just yet, this gives me the range and helps me find what kind of style I like. As for the other bits and pieces, I don't have a lot! No tripod, no filters (though I have ordered a cheap set of ND's and a polariser - very excited). So, there is a lot to collect, but as it's just a hobby, these things will come slowly.
The Future
So yeah, this is the start line. A man, a camera, and a growing passion. A short blog post to kick off the journey. I'm not going to lie, I've never written a blog before, nor even read one. Just another thing I can learn and enjoy. I want to have fun and take photos. As I live in Shikoku, Japan, most of my photos will be from the area - which is kind of cool, because there isn't a lot stuff out there about Shikoku. Thus, I am looking forward to sharing my new home land. I'm going to primarily focus on landscape photography, as it aligns with joys like camping and hiking. Someday, I may even make some videos to show off some of these locations too. I'm not much of a presenter, or a personality, so perhaps some lightly narrated, montage-type youtube videos - we will see.
Thank you for reading. Cheers!
